Estimate a winter range adjustment

Apply a chosen cold-weather reduction to a known reference range. The tool helps you compare planning scenarios without claiming to predict the range of a particular vehicle at a specific temperature.

kmUse the same reference range when comparing scenarios.
These percentages are chosen scenarios, not temperature forecasts.
Choose a reference range and a cold-weather scenario.

The percentage is a planning assumption, not a prediction for a specific temperature, vehicle, or trip.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter a reference range in kilometres and keep its test cycle in mind.
  2. Choose the 15%, 25% or 35% planning allowance.
  3. Calculate and compare the adjusted figure with your route length and an additional reserve.

Worked example

A 25% winter planning reduction

Reference range
450 km
Cold-weather allowance
Cold conditions · 25%

Expected result About 338 km planning range

450 × (1 − 0.25) = 337.5 km, displayed rounded to 338 km. A separate arrival reserve is not subtracted.

How to read this result

The result is an adjusted scenario range. Speed, cabin heating, wind and battery temperature can produce a different real result; confirm charging options for the actual route.

How it is calculated

  • Adjusted planning range = reference range × (1 − selected reduction percentage).

Assumptions

  • The preset reductions are broad scenarios selected by the reader, not measured model-specific data.

What this estimate cannot tell you

  • Cabin heat, speed, wind, tires, route, preconditioning, and battery temperature can move real-world range well outside this estimate.
